Employment Workshop For Teens

Land that important first job! Join us on Tuesday, May 15th from 4-5:30pm at the Station Branch for an Employment Workshop hosted by Project Excel. Learn how to fill out a job application, whom to use as references, how to dress, the importance of body language, and much more. Afterwards, teens are invited to make an appointment with an Employment Counselor frm Project Excel. Counselors will have a list of possible job opportunities in the community. Teens ages 14-18. Registration opens Monday, May 7th at 10am. Out of district patrons welcome.

Show Me The Money

Councilman Mark Mayoka and The Huntington Small Business Resource and Recovery Center will host a program called “Show Me The Money” on Tuesday, May 1st from 8:20-10:30 am at Huntington Town Hall, Room 104. This small business seminar is FREE. Councilman Mark Mayoka and the Long Island Development Corporation want to assist small business owners in these tough economic times. There will also be special segment dedicated to helping minority business owners. Roslyn D. Goldmacher, Esq. is the President/CEO & Founder of the Long Island Development Corporation and will lead the discussion. LIDC is part of a family of economic development entities which includes the Greater New York Development Co. serving small businesses and not-for-profits for almost thirty years with low cost financing and free technical assistance. Roslyn (Roz) is a well known authority on small business, financing, and economic development. She serves on several national Boards of Directors including the national fiscal agent for the SBA 504 loan program and the national Service Corps Of Retired Executives (SCORE).
