Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Career Fair 2013

New York State Department of Labor will present the Dr. King Career Fair in New York City on June 6th and June 13th. Events will run from 11-3 pm and will be held at the following locations:

Walmart Hiring on Long Island

Walmart has opened a hiring center in Levittown as it prepares for it's Long Island debut.  They plan to recruit about 90 people to work at the first Walmart Neighborhood Market to open on the Island.  The company is accepting applications at the hiring center at 148 Gardiners Ave. in Levittown between 8a.m. and 5p.m., Monday through Friday.           Applicants can also apply online.

Interviewing Skills Workshop June 10th

The Job Development Program at LI cares focuses on the essential skills and tools needed to help individuals become self-sufficient in their path towards employment: career consulting and strategies, job training and employment services, plus tips on how to become a better communicator in your job search or current job. Join the Brentwood Public Library on Monday, June 10th from 4-5 pm for an Interviewing Skills Workshop. The coordinator will go over specific ways that may improve your communication skills both verbally and non-verbally, in order to achieve your most confident self. Employment Network Program

Our Lady Queen of Martyr's Employment Network Program will be starting on May 13th at 7:00 PM in the Community Room in Centerport. The program is held on six consecutive Mondays and is FREE to anyone seeking employment. Experienced counselors will help you sharpen your job-hunting skills and cover topics such as career assessment, planning and research, resume writing, networking and interviewing. 2nd Annual Graduate College Fair


The 2nd Annual Graduate College Fair will take place on Tuesday, May 21st from 6-9 PM at Five Town's College.  Meet top graduate school representatives from across Long Island, New York City & Upstate New York.  Consult one-on-one with financial aid advisors.
