Do you know what to expect when you get to college? It may not be exactly what you think it will be. This workshop goes over the unexpected surprises that can occur your first year in college. Learn how to stretch your budget & cook a gourmet meal in a microwave. We will help you prepare to budget your time so that you can make the most of your time at college-both working & playing. Registration required. Registration begins July 6th.

The Huntington Public Library offers Career Counseling Services . A certified Career Counselor will help you with your job search, interviewing skills & questions regarding your resume. If you are a new college graduate, someone who needs help with job searching or just looking to re-enter the job market, schedule a free, one hour appointment today. Join us at the Huntington Public Library Station Branch to learn about a free, at-home study program for adults 21 and over, who would like to prepare for the HSE/TASC (formerly GED) exam, but are unable to attend classes on a regular basis. Certified instructors provide you with assignments to complete at home. Assignments are picked up at the library. Telephone assistance is also available. Long Island Career Fair June 25th

Are you looking for a job? Are you tired of sending resumes left and right and never getting an answer? If you are, dress in your best professional clothes, bring resumes and visit our Long Island Career Fair on Monday, June 25th from 11-2 pm at the Melville Marriott Long Island. You will have the opportunity to meet top employers and to interview for several positions during the course of the day, meeting the people who make the hiring decisions. You will save a lot of time since there will be no need to craft a customized personal statement for each company you visit. You’ll be able to tell them why you wish to work for them, and you’ll have the chance to sell yourself.  Admission is FREE. Complimentary on-site parking.
