UPS to Hire 95,000 Workers for the Holidays

UPS announced today that it expects to hire about 95,000 seasonal employees to support the anticipated increase in package volume that will begin in November and continue through January 2017.  While the positions are seasonal, UPS officials say that they could lead to permanent opportunities.  Interested job seekers can easily apply for holiday season opportunities by visiting UPSjobs.com.  Applicants must apply online.

Third Annual Veteran Career Fair & Employment Expo

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone presents the third annual Veteran Career Fair & Employment Expo on  Friday, October 14th from 10-2 pm at Suffolk County Community College. Veterans only from 10-12 pm & open to the general public from 12-2 pm.  Over 100 companies will be participating.

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will be hosting a Job Fair on Friday, October 7th from 10-1 PM.  All are welcome. SCCC Entrepreneurial Training Course

Suffolk County Community College Entrepreneurial Assistance Center will conduct the Fall 2016 60-Hour Entrepreneurial Training Program September 26, 2016 to December 14, 2016. Classes will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 9pm. The training program will assist in the development of a business strategy by teaching the basic business model of marketing, management, finance, taxes, and law. The goal is the creation of a business plan to start and/or grow a business. Seating is limited!
