Learn to Use LinkedIn

Use LinkedIn for success in your business, career & job search. On Sat, Oct 20th & Nov 3rd, technology pro Matt Stern will show you how to get the information you need to be more sucessful. With two sessions, you'll learn the best ways to complete your profile, successful navigation, 3rd party introductions, groups and discussions, jobs and more. Bring your portable computer or device, so you can work on your account in class. If you are without one, there will be plenty of information to absorb and take with you. Sessions will run from 10-12pm. Registration required. Open to all.

Business Basics: How to Successfuly Start a Small Business

On Wed,October 17th, the NYS Small Business Development Center will present a workshop, "Business Basics: How to Successfuly Start a Small Business". This workshop will cover what you need to know when starting a small business. Topics will include business types, government regulations, writing a business plan, basic tax information, and financing your business. The workshop will run from 9-11am at the SBDC Conference Center @ Farmingdale State College. There is a $12 fee. Pre-registration required.

Employment Network Program

Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Employment Network Program will be starting on October 22nd at 7:00 PM in the Community Room in Centerport. The program is held on six consecutive Mondays and is free to anyone seeking employment. Experienced counselors will help you sharpen your job-hunting skills and cover topics such as career assessment, planning and research, resume writing, networking and interviewing. Long Island Career Fair

Meet face-to-face with the hiring decision makers from some of the areas top employers on Wednesday, October 17th from 10:30-2:00pm. The Career Fair will take place at the Melville Marriott.
