Business Basics: How to Successfully Start a Small Business

On Tuesday, November 15th, the NYS Small Business Development Center will present a workshop, "Business Basics: How to Successfuly Start a Small Business". This workshop will cover what you need to know when starting a small business. Topics will include business types, government regulations, writing a business plan, basic tax information, and financing your business. The workshop will run from 9-11am at the SBDC Conference Center @ Farmingdale State College. There is a $12 fee. Pre-registration required.

Latino College Fair

The Latino College Fair allows students and parents/guardians to meet and talk with more than 50 independent college and university admission and financial aid representatives. The “Planning and Paying for College” workshop will help students and their families better understand the admissions and financial aid process and programs. The session, simultaneously translated into Spanish via headphones, will cover college affordability, including explanations of grants and scholarships plus financial aid forms, terms and deadlines. The “Ask the Financial Aid Expert” stations provide students and families an opportunity to sit down with financial aid experts to get answers to their specific questions about paying for college. Long Island Career Fair November 10th

Meet face-to-face with the hiring decision makers from some of the areas top employers on Thursday, November 10th from 11-2pm. The Career Fair will take place at the Melville Marriott. Dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes, because they are there to hire. Just walk in and start interviewing, it's that simple.
