Miller Business Resource Center Programs

The Miller Business Resource Center serves as a regional resource for businesses, independent entrepreneurs, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals. The Center sponsors networking and training events and works in partnership with Long Island business support organizations to provide greater public access to the information and services they offer. This Spring they will offer 2 programs for anyone interested in starting their own business.

The Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will be hosting the fourth annual Fresh Start Career Expo on Thursday, March 24th from 11-2 pm at Suffolk County Community College Michael J. Home Depot to Hire 900 on Long Island

Home Depot will be hiring about 900 part-time workers on Long Island in anticipation of a springtime rush for home improvement supplies. Permanent and seasonal job openings include positions for cashiers as well as sales and operations. Each of the 21 stores on Long Island will be hiring about 40 employees depending on need. More than half of Home Depot’s seasonal hires transitioned to permanent positions last year, according to the company.  Home Depot offers profit-sharing, tuition assistance, a 401k and a discounted stock purchase plan to part-time and full-time permanent associates.  All interested applicants must apply online at www.careers.homedepot.com.

Correction Officer Trainee Exam
