Huntington Opportunity Resource Center Seeking Huntington Veterans

Councilwoman Edwards is proud to announce that the Huntington Opportunity Resource Center is seeking Huntington Veterans for the United Way of Long Island VetsBuild program. VetsBuild helps Long Island’s Veterans find jobs in the emerging green industry, provides VetsBuild students with no-cost hands-on training in basic weatherization, energy, and entry-level OSHA training at their state of the art facility & one-on-one job counseling and job placement assistance. Huntington Opportunity Resource Center (HORC) Now Open

The Town of Huntington in partnership with Suffolk County Department of Labor and the Department of Social Services has agreed to provide supportive services to the Huntington community at-large. The Huntington Opportunity Resource Center (HORC) is now open to the public Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 pm at 1268 New York Ave, Huntington Station. The HORC will provide with resume preparation, help find job openings, explore career options, provide access to training, give tips for success, job readiness, DSS applications assistance, not-for profit service referrals for those who need extended assistance that we can not provide and field general service questions. The Long Island Career Fair will take place on Monday, July 14th from 11-2 pm at the Melville Marriott Long Island.
