Long Island Career Fair June 30th

Beginner QuickBooks Certificate Program
Learn Record Keeping and more ….
Workshops will be held June 6, 8, 13, 15, 2016  from 6-9 pm. Learn skills to:

  • Create a new QuickBooks company
  • Modify the preset chart of accounts to suit individual needs
  • Add/edit information to company lists
  • Write QuickBooks checks and assign amounts to specific accounts
  • Work with asset and liability accounts in QuickBooks
  • Enter bills into QuickBooks accounts payable
  • Pay bills
  • Invoice customers
  • Receive payments from customers and make bank deposits
  • Open and use registers for any QuickBooks balance sheet accounts
  • Reconcile a QuickBooks checking and credit card account
  • Track credit card transactions
Basic computer skills are required. Please complete and mail the registration form along with your payment of $275.00. "You Can Go Too" May 25th

Ever think, I can't go to College because of  my financial situation, I don't know how to apply or because traditional schooling isn't for me?  The Huntington Opportunity Resource Center (HORC) in partnership with St. Joseph's College will be presenting a program "You Can Go Too!" on Wednesday, May 25th from 6-8 PM.  Come meet with an advisor from some of Long Islands Colleges, vocational training centers & entrepreneur workshops. Information on financial aid, scholarships & grants will be available.  Schools that will be in attendance are St. Joseph's College, Suffolk County Community College, Hunter Business School, Long Island Educational Opportunity Center & Suffolk Community College Entrepreneurial Program. St. Joseph's College NY-Worker Training Program

St. Joseph's College in cooperation with Suffolk County Community College & the Huntington Opportunity Resource Center will offer some new workshops that are designed to provide workforce training to un/underemployed residents & special populations, which include veterans, in those job sectors on Long Island identified as poised to hire.  Training will take place at the Huntington Opportunity Resource Center (HORC) & will be led by St. Joseph's College staff & industry leaders. The primary emphasis will be placed on the hospitality industry.  In addition two courses, soldering & welding, which focus on manufacturing, will also be offered on the Grant Campus at Suffolk County Community College.
